Student City booked over 500 students for an all inclusive in Punta Cana. Upon arrival they received an email stating the resort was sold out and would not be able to accommodate them.

Already sounds very well rehearsed to me. They were then taken by bus and dropped at at residential condo without a pool, restaurants and bottled water. They were told this is the best they can do and left them there. A few have select to fly home and most are miserably sticking it out.

After many parents relentlessly tried to make contact the agent whom booked the trip is out of the country on business as a result there calls are being answered by a machine/email are bouncing back.

Seems like it is simple do not sell what you so not have to sell. The entire group of 500 x 1800 you do the math.

Location: Dearborn Heights, Michigan

Student City books -takes your money and then runs.

Our group had trouble with their trip from the moment they arrived at the airport. There was no one from Student City to check in approx 50 high school students at 4am in the morning. The kids waited in line to check in but only ONE Delta ticket agent could access the Group reservation at a time. Delta did their best but it would have taken a lot less time if someone from Student City was there. Delta had to open a separate security line or else half of the kids would have not gotten on the plane. Student City placed all the responsibility on Delta. We also weren't told of the $25 baggage fee so some of the kids didn't have this handy or budgeted for it!

There was no one with them on the flight to direct them where to go when they had to change planes in Atlanta---wouldn't you like to be on a flight at 6am with 50 high school kids! There really needed to be a chaperone.

Find out that when the kids got there at noon in the Bahamas that their rooms weren't ready (really?) and that 4 boys were in a room with 2 twin beds. (again really?) So I pay all this money and now my kid has to sleep in a chair????? Been told that breakfast is some microwavable egg sandwich and that all they have been eating are hamburgers. Wow!

So does the Wyndham think that ALL kids just eat hamburgers and junk food!??? but you can charge regular high season prices?? This is "ALL INCLUSIVE"?

Shame on both Student City AND WYNDAM.

Pittsburg - Are you an employee with Student City?? I am pretty sure you are.

Well I will say I wasone of the students from Pittsburgh who had the luxury of booking through student cuty and the SHEER PLEASURE of spending a week with U of M students. IDK which one was worse.

I was upset with the handling ofthe stay, but these kids from Michigan are absolutely disrespectful and condescending. IDK who raised these young adults but they are certainly on the right track towards self entitlement and laziness. They spit on staff and treated us like we were subordinates bc we are not from Michigan. Student City did what it could and honestly U of M students deserved to be in the slums with no clean water.

Sorry they took your mouths away from your moms *** but thats what happens when you step out of your comfort zone. Youre all prob getting your money back.

U of M parents should try to establish some discipline in their children who, unfortunately myself and others, have to assimilate with these U of M punk loser types in society in the future. U of M = rookies

I think that StudentCity really dropped the ball on this one. However, I say this only because I've always traveled with them; this is not the way the trips normally are.

Don't attack the staff that is down there trying to clean up corporates mess. I have a friend down there working, and they are fearful for their safety due to U of M constantly threatening them, spitting at them, harassing them. These are not the people you should be hurting!

Yes, the trip got screwed up, really big bummer that one spring break trip of your college life didn't go as planned- StudentCity is reimbursing those kids. Take your money and go get trashed somewhere else, and stop taking your anger out at the kids who work on site a month out of the year who are left dealing with this disaster that they did not cause.

I sure hope student city comes up with a refund to those students who stay on the trip. trying to make the best of an awful situation. They were put in rooms with six kids, showers didn't work, water was running nonstop. some left to stay with other friends and are STILL HOTE LLESS!

Can not get a hold of BRAD KUBLIN, who was supposedly our on site rep.. In speaking with Student City today- they could not tell me which hotel my son was at at this time as they were still compiling their roster, but gave me a 24 hour SC emergency number in the Dominican that they assured me could help locate him. I got a recorded message in Spanish which I can not understand and, at this time, still dont know where my son was moved to.

Noticed there is a Facebook page for concerned students and parents Studentcity university of Michigan punta Cana 2012

Create a Facebook page so we can all do this together and get reimbursement and info

Student city took 600 kids to punta cana knowing they did not have the promised resort accommodations for half of them. Instead half of the group was taken to a condo development where there not enough beds, no drinking water, only french fries and rice to eat.

No security and no transportation. This is the third day of the trip and after students and parents insisted kids have been moved to other hotels although a few are still waiting for rooms kids report that student city reps and security are nowhere to be found. This i unfair to the students and upsettinf for parentz who thought they were sending their kidss ona supervised, organized trip.

Student city is an incompetent and deceitful company. Avoid them or you will likely regret it

Once the "alternate" hotel/condo refused to honor the "All-Inclusive" portion of the agreement, I believe they were in breach of contract. Attorneys - please respond!!! Thanks

I just spoke witht he credit card comapny, they said that I can not dispute the charges, becuase there is a law that if they put our kids up in another accomadation they are protected. Utter ***.

There are enough parents of these kids that are high powered atorney that should institute a class action law suit. Also complaints to the BBB and crtiques on theri social web sites should help

All true - I flew my daughter back home yesterday. Can't wait to see if they will issue a refund.

Guest

All true. My daughter was one of the kids shipped to the "upgraded" condos.

That was pretty funny. After pushing several Student City team members for about 18 hours, we were finally able to get my daughter and a group of her friends moved to another all inclusive resort. While the resort is nice and she is safe, the kids are not happy being separated from all of their friends.

Its not the trip they paid for. I think we should use the national fraternity system to spread the word and put pressure on Student City to make this situation right.

I think that MATT ZAFRAN & STUART CHASON (on site reps of Student CIty) should give up THEIR rooms to some of the displaced students. I'm seriously considering flying down there tomorrow.

My wife informed them that if this matter wasn't resolved by the end of the day (Sunday) that she will go on every social media site known to man and let everyone know that this organization SUCKS! I suggest everyone does the same.

Guest

Everyone who is on the trip needs to put in a complaint with the better business bureau

Guest

This is completely unacceptable. Im on the line now trying to contact someone at Studentcity.

What company doesn't have calls covered during the actual trip?! This smells rotten through and through.

How could such a screw-up happen, especially if they are in this business for years?! If I find that these allegations are true I will personally rally every parent of every student on that trip and make sure this business never screws another student's Springbreak again!

Guest

The above is absolutely true. The people at student tours have been uncooperative.

They promised security at this location, and none were provided. One key for 6 people, broken safe, not enough chairs, or food.

Bottled water was not brought for 22 hours. It was suppose to be all inclusive and no bar, no food!!!
