This company is a scam

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

This company is a scam. I have given the upper hand of $10k towards this company and they let me down every single time.

That must be my mistake. They promise all inclusive for twice the price of other companies but give us half of what other companies give. Instead of providing transportation as promised, they tell us to find taxis and figure it out which is unsafe for a group of young women in a foreign country with a history of bad things happening in taxis/ubers alone, expensive, and a headache. They also provide events that either didnt even have an open bar or the open bar closed 2 hours before other companies.

This company is a mess, and I do not see my school using it ever again after this year.

They steal your money and use it for their own tables at the clubs they make you pay extra money for. USE ANY OTHER COMPANY THIS COMPANY IS A MASSIVE SCAM.

Would NOT recommend to literally ANYONE. We waited in 2 hour long lines the entire week and they claim when you get their party package you “skip club lines” which is a lie lol, also we payed $500-$600 more than people who didn’t book with Student City (for the same experience), their idea of a “booze cruise” is waiting on a beach for 3 hours to then get shuttled to a *** 20 person sailboat with 2 bottles of rum and 40 year old men. Everything was always pushed back, their communication is freaking TERRIBLE. And they are so unbelievably rude when you express your concerns or complaints. They completely scam you and waste so much of your time on your trip waiting on them. Even when we were checking in when we first got there (full of excitement) we had to wait in a 3 hour long line to check in with them. GET ORGANIZED PEOPLE

Do not send your son or daughter...

As a parent, I suggest not wasting your valuable money on Student City for Spring Break- South Padre. You are assigned a room, but many students went without paying. Rooms with occupancy of 4 or 6 were packed 10+. Really? I called the hotel, but they were not helpful. The Padre Pass was a waste of money. It was stolen. She tried to find Student City reps, but they were nowhere to be found. She was able to get into all events without it. I called the Student City Main Office, but they were not helpful. As a parent, I felt helpless. Do not use a travel company for Spring Break! Make your own plans.

Punta Cana Ultimate Spring Break NFW

Ultimate Spring Break if maybe I were homeless before I left Philly, - Room double booked, 3 people in a single, maybe all inclusive means you all get to sleep in the same bed? - 6 hours in the lobby to get a room assignment oh yeah the the room was already occupied. -StudentCity staff are rude, ineffective buffoons who could screw up a one car parade -bed linens were stained and never changed, toilet seat was dirty and broken, carpet in the room smelled worse than camel. - bilked us out of the Party Pass because the rest of the offerings sucked that much - can't say enough negative things about these used car salesmen of the travel world. If you want to get screwed and then told to go f yourself than this is the company for you. - Oh yeah bedbugs too. The joy never stopped on this "Ultimate Spring Break" Wonder if they can be sued for false advertising?

Ex-wife of cheating travel boss demands share of his earnings on top of £10m payout

After multiple failures of Student City on my daughters spring break in Punta Cana she called home just wanting to leave and come home. They have ruined what should have been an lifetime event. After multiple times being lied to I decided to see who ran the company. Student City is owned by Traveltopia. Their CEO is William Waggot. Is it a coincidence that his name rhymes with Maggot? Anyways on a google search this is the lead response "Ex-wife of cheating travel boss demands share of his earnings on top of £10m payout " headline from The Telegraph. Enough said. This company is obviously run from the top with minimal moral compass.

Went on the Student City spring break trip to Cancun last year and could not have been more disappointed. For starters, after originally telling us we would be flying United, we were switched last minute to Spirit Airlines (an airline which literally makes you pay for even your carry-on and get this...

a 40 pound limit for checked bags). Beyond the terrible travel, the hotel was a complete flop as well. Half of the hotel is sectioned off for non-student city guests and not only is the pool nicer on this side, but the restaurants are off-limits. At the restaurants which were available, the food was absolute trash and was often paired with a wait of at least an hour for dinner time.

Lets see what next? Oh yea the drinks sucked too. We traveled all the way to mexico just to margaritas made with the cheapest margarita mix and bottom shelf tequila money can buy. To top it all off, many of my friends had the A/C in their rooms go out during their stay.

We also bought the club passes, which was not an entirely bad decision considering there is absolutely nothing to do at night on the resort, however the pitch they gave us about having our own private line to get into the club was ***, student city is the line.

To sum it up, this trip is completely overpriced and will constantly try to nickel and dime you at every turn. If you really want to go to mexico, put in the extra effort and plan it out yourself, it will literally save you $1000.

StudentCity - Spring Break Vacation Package Booking Review

My experience with Student City was HORRIBLE. First I planned to go on the Inception of Sea Cruise with a group of friends for Spring Break and after making 2 payments we were told that we cannot go on the trip anymore after we were told MULTIPLE times that we would be allowed to go on the cruise if we were under 21.

So they ended up moving our payments over to a Cancun trip for the same price as the cruise which was great! Until everyone in our group ended up dropping out because they did not want to go anymore. Come to find out that my boyfriend and I would have to pay occupancy fees because him and I would be staying in a 4 person room with just 2 people. After taking that and the price of flights into consideration we both agreed that there was no way we can afford the trip.

I called customer service and was told the money that we paid was non-refundable because it was after we paid our final payment. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she was SUPER rude to me and my parents and my phone call ended up with her hanging up on me simply because I told her my sorority and my boyfriends fraternity would no longer be using them.

Now we are in a battle to get our $700 back and it is RIDICULOUS. WORST company ever!!!

Sorry but if you read very carefully or not even that carefully, they say that (1) person in each room must be 21! I was looking into cruises for Spring break for my daughter and her friends.

Every cruise line or College Spring Break provider, made it very clear that ALL cruises have that requirement. I do not hold that against Student City.

That was an oversight on young readers just making a mistake.

Mistakes happen, but you have to realize, that they did nothing wrong on their website, nor when I called to verify it.

My daughter planned a trip to DR for springbreak with studentcity. She goes online to make her final payment and norices that her trip total has gone up $500 without any notice.

Not so much as an email, letter or call. Come to find out it was her responsiblity to keep track of how many girls go on spring break and if anyone cancels. If people do cancel, they increase your price without notice. We informed them she will be canceling her trip.

$1900 for 5 days is way overpriced. They tell us that there will be a $600 cancelation fee. She is still waiting on remaining refund. Who knows if she will get anything back.

Dont trust this place. Total scam that preys on college students.

I encourage you to read reviews before you give them your money. They're scam artists.

I have been a traveler with studentcity in the past, and now I work in the Transportation Industry. When you book with this company, their computer in turn books seats on airplanes and reserves the hotel rooms, most of the time everything is based on quad occupancy (4 people to a room).

THEY ARE A TRAVEL SERVICE, they dont own the hotels or the airplanes! When a person backs out, the cost of the room doesn't change, it is evenly spread between the remaining travelers. This is life. If you split utilities with your roommates and someone moves out, guess what?

Every ones share increases! The $600 cancellation fee isnt going to studentcity, its going to the airline to cover the empty seat on the airplane that your daughter wont be sitting in, but said she would.

I just wanted to comment that everything this woman said was in the agreement package page and was clearly stated. It is clear her daughter didn't read the terms and instead just marked "I agree". I am a 21 year old college student planning a spring break with them and it is a very legit organization.

Misrepresentation , scam and lack of service

I paid $1913 for a 5 night spring break trip for my son to stay at the Oasis Cancun hotel . Four Students were put in one room with one bed. They made multiple request at the front desk   and  the staff who were unresponsive. They had problems accessing their room and so the hotel staff removed the front door handle for 2 days and so they either had to leave their door open or some one had to stay in the room to allow the other room members access. The hotel was billed as all inclusive but they had to hold out dollar bills to get service. Student City representatives were unhelpful and refused to pass any credit for the trip and the rep blocked access to managers and owners of the company when a complain was made

Student City could have been the worst "service" money could ever buy. Would not recommend using this "traveling service" to anyone. Seemed like all they cared about was a free 5 week vacation and scamming hundreds of college students out of their money. Surprised this "organization" even exists. Don't waste your time or money with these people. Completely unprofessional with zero regard, care, or respext for their students who paid them an enormous amount of money for an absolute brutal service in return.

Hmmmm where to begin...? Well let's see the customer service was incredibly hard to get ahold of and our representatives kept getting "fired" we arrived in the Bahamas and we "greeted" by this *** named TJ. Apparently he was the director or marketing and sales for the Bahamas and let me tell you, he was the biggest liar I have ever met. He told us we couldn't do anything with party passes once we had already arrived. This cost an additional $300 on top of the $1600 we already paid. After a few nights of going out we found the clubs were terrible and not worth the money for the party pass! We confronted TJ the *** clown and he said it was his problem, because we signed the contract without reading just like everyone reads the I tunes contract and then laughed at us. 4 of the 7 in our group tried to fight him at multiple points in our trip. At one point I wanted to head butt his *** aviators right off his lying face. The resort was the biggest *** pile of *** I have ever seen. It was called the breezes super *** club. The employees were terrible, everything was closed and the food was awful. The pool was closed and filled with cigarette butts, beer cans and chairs. The rooms had bed bugs and they had black lights in the ventilation systems to produce ozone to block the smell of mold. This gave me a bacteria infection in my throat causing it to swell shut. I then had to go to a Bahamian hospital and student city was not very happy to help me get their. At this point my division 1 football player friend got things moving for me by whooping them into shape. End of story if you're going to deal with these *** be prepared to fight tooth and nail. Beware of these low life *** bags!

DO NOT BOOK THROUGH STUDENTCITY!!!

Our group of 7 used student city to book our trip to Nassau. We were told by our representative that a bunch of other people from Michigan were going to the same resort and that it was really nice. This all turned out to to be completely false. We were the only people from Michigan there, and the hotel was half-star at best. It was supposed to be an all inclusive, and all it included was a buffet of garbage food three times a day. They shut down the one bar in the whole resort at 10pm to force everyone to buy the $300 party pass which gets you into a half *** club every night. Our room had three people, but we each had to pay extra to make up for not having a fourth. When we got to the hotel we found out our room was not for 4, it was a one bed room (with bedbugs) that they roll a cot into for the third person. Not only was the "resort" not very fun but it was also unsanitary in every way. The pool was closed almost every day because of god knows what was in there. The buffet and the bars looked as if they hadn't been cleaned since the place was built. The resort staff as well as the student city staff were lazy, unhelpful, and completely unfriendly. Student city workers will lie to you every change they get so that you will spend more money. One of our group members ended up in the hospital due to a bacterial infection, where the nurse told him that it was a common occurrence for people staying at our resort (Super Club Breezes). The bottom line is for how much money you will spend through student city you can book your own trip at a five star hotel many places in the Caribbean. They are scam artists!!

DO NOT go through student city when booking any trip. The company does not care about their customers especially once the trip has started.

They do not tell you half of what you are getting into and even though they say that the trip is all inclusive, there are more fees on arrival. During my stay, there were many problems from day one and even though I had contacted them many times, they NEVER got back to me. I have had friends with the same issue and the company refuses to do anything for them. Friend of mine had maids cut through their luggage and steal their money which student city does not warn you about before entering on the trip.

Even when setting up my account, every person working there was on a different page each telling me something completely different.

They are so unorganized. DO NOT trust this company to handle any of your business, they want your money and once they receive it they do not care.
